Last season I heard of someone finding about 25-30 nice greys in an apple orchard. This was early season too and all I had found was one tiny grey. Makes sense they could grow earlier in an orchard where the ground is exposed to sun all day.

I have always heard of people talking about old apple orchards. I have actually never hunted for mushrooms in an apple orchard but people say they have luck.

Be careful, mushrooms absorb heavy metals, ans chemicals too.

Have had good luck finding them in the grass on the edges of cornfields, but I am a little concerned because they do absorb the pesticides and chemicals.
